"I'm glad we did this."
"Me, too. It's nice to have a quiet, relaxing dinner for once."
They laughed gently at that. John slowly reached for her hand, taking it into a his gentle grasp. "I'm glad it's you I'm with."
Aeryn blushed slightly and wouldn't meet his gaze. "Me, too."
This time it was John's turn to look away, focusing on the remains of their meal. "Would you like any more of... this?" He asked, waving his hands vaguely at the blue-ish delicacy between them.
Aeryn shook her head. "No, but I'll take some more of that soup."
"Be my guest. It tastes like two day old broccholi to me." John muttered, his face crinkling into distate as Aeryn grinned and proceeded to drink the white-ish fluid with relish.
"Well, it did come from Zhaan afterall." Aeryn reasoned before gulping down the remainder of the odd soup.
Wiping his mouth, John smiled ruefully at the mess they had made. "Well, I'm done. I suppose we should clean up here."
"Unnecessary, Commander." Pilot's voice chimed in as his ghostly image came on the clam-shell shaped communications port. The purplish navigator nodded his head as if apololgizing for intruding on their meal. "I shall have the DRDs attend to the Central Chamber. I require you and Officer Sun's asistance on Tier 6 to repair an amnexus system leak."
"We're on it, Pilot." Aeryn said, headed for the door with John right beside her in companionable silence. She couldn't help but smile at how perfectly they complemented each other, each balancing the others weakness with their own strengths. She certainly didn't think she would have been able to survive this long without him and was happy he was here with her.
"You know that was a delicious meal, John." Aeryn commented as they hurried towards Tier 6. "Thank you for suggesting it."
John smiled, clearly pleased with himself. "Good. What would you like for breakfast?"
A slow smile crossed her face as she gave serious thought to his question. She had let him choose this morning's meal and had found it to be surprisingly good. "I was thinking we could have what you made this morning."
John laughed and smacked his lips. "Mm. Baked Hynerian."

The Den.
Pilot smiled to himself as he watched the pair laugh to themselves and begin the task of searching for the leak on Tier 6. Happy for his two travelling companions he directed the DRDs to thaw out Rygel from the consumables refrigeration unit, noting with some dismay that less than half of their Delvian meat suppply remained.
He shrugged to himself, an odd gesture he had picked up from his human crewmate, knowing what the biological needs of crew were in regards to sustenance. He was simply glad John and Aeryn had won the decision over who got to eat and who got eaten. They were still repairing the damage incurred while containing D'Argo. Besides they were approaching a Commerce planet known for its large supplies of consumable goods and would arrive within the weeken. More than enough food remained until then.
Satisfied with the progress of the DRDs and John and Aeryn's progress on the repair of the amnexus leak, Pilot happily returned to his other duties.
Fin.
