Silent Understandings

Your grip on my hand is firm with gentle understanding. Your face is calm,
unwilling to dishonor my warrior's pride with an emotional display. I look
in your eyes to see the truth we know in our hearts, the futility of this
and yet that spark of hope remains.
The silence between us speaks volumes.
